Taste of Cement: Huge Achievements in 10 months

In parallel with its presentation in European, American and Asian festivals, “Taste of Cement” has started its tour in the French Cinemas, gaining wide interest from the French public and media. The film will soon be shown in cinemas in other countries, including Switzerland and Japan.

In the film “Taste of Cement”, the director Ziad Kalthoum and the DOP Talal Khoury focus on the difficult lives of the Syrian workers who are building a skyscraper in Beirut, while their houses are being destroyed in Syria. Through a special visual and cinematic language, they show the suffering and the tragedy of these workers.

 

With the launch of the film globally at Visions Du Reel, 10 months ago, and after winning the “Best Feature Film” at the festival, “Taste of Cement” started to receive a series of international awards, such as “Harrel” award for Best Feature Documentary at Camden International Film Festival- U.S.A, and “Doc Alliance” award for Best Documentary Film in the European countries. And lately, the film was chosen the best non-fiction film at Dubai International Film Festival.

The film received more awards from several countries such as Germany, Switzerland, Canada, Spain, Italy, France, Britain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovakia, Australia, and Japan.
